Our Medication-Assisted Treatment program uses FDA-approved medications such as Suboxone, Brixadi, and Sublocade. These are combined with behavioral therapies to address the full scope of opioid use disorder.
What is MAT?
As indicated by the name, medications are a key component of medication-assisted treatment, but it is truly a comprehensive approach to treating substance abuse disorders. In its various phases, it incorporates strategies to address several components of an individual’s life, including:
- Vocational issues
- Medical and mental health concerns
- Family issues
- Legal concerns through monitoring, support, screening, referrals, and counseling.
Why MAT Works
Research consistently shows that MAT reduces opioid use, decreases the risk of overdose, and improves long-term treatment outcomes. It helps stabilize brain chemistry, reduce cravings, and block the euphoric effects of opioids while supporting the development of life skills through therapy and support.
MAT at Anchor Health also provides:
- Medical and psychiatric assessments
- Individualized treatment plans
- Drug screening and compliance monitoring
- Court-approved services for justice-involved individuals
By addressing medical, emotional, legal, and social challenges, MAT empowers clients to build sustainable recovery pathways and rebuild their lives with dignity.
